What is Localiter?

Localiter is an Austin-based internet company that connects with the best places in Austin to bring users incredible local discounts and deals. We only require that a set number of users commit to paying for our deals before we can honor them. Because our deals are awesome, it typically shouldn't be a problem - that is, getting enough people to buy into a daily deal. Not asking for marriage here; it’s just a deal.

How do I get enough people to buy the deal, so that I get my discount?

If you build the right deal, the people will come. Actually, that's not entirely true. The people come from YOU! You gotta tell your friends, and then have your friends' friends tell their people, as well as their friends' people - and maybe a couple other people. Don't worry, we get the word out too - Facebook, Twitter, parties, events, local businesses, friends, intelligent monkeys, talking horses, rich uncles, etc.  Obviously, the more Localites you tell, the better the deals will be for everyone; the better the deals, the bigger the following and so on. Sorta like, "Hi Yin, I'd like you to meet Yang!"

I want in. What do I do?

See the button that says 'BUY NOW'? Click on that button. Once you enter your credit card info, our secure payment processing system holds your charge until the required number of Localites buys into the deal. Soooo...hook up your friends and share that gosh-darn deal. 

What if not enough Localites buy the deal?

Localiter will feel deep deep shame.  Seriously, if this happens, we will be super embarrassed. At any rate, in the unfortunate event that not enough Localites buy the deal, it probably just means that you were all busy playing offline and hopefully outdoors. Bottom line -- we don't charge anyone, anything. Our advice -- just make sure you bring your laptop to Barton Springs, so that we never have... a situation.

So it is only good for a day?

You can only buy that deal that day, but you can use it until it expires. Just make sure you check the expiration date!

Do I have to bring my computer to the store to redeem the deal?

Uh, seriously?! No. Once you purchase the deal, you'll get a confirmation email. Print that out and bring it on in.

What if I want to get one for a friend?

Some businesses will allow gift purchases, so look for that option when purchasing.

What do I do if I want a refund?

If your request for a refund seems reasonable, then so too will be our response to your request...

Email us at info@localiter.com with the subject heading REFUND. In order to expedite the process, please include your contact info, the reason for your request and the voucher code for the requested refund. 

In general, we will likely not grant a refund on requests submitted to us more than 30 days after your purchase. Why is this so? As much as we want to help and assist everyone, truthfully, the longer you wait, the less power we have to help and assist you.

What if I don't use the whole voucher?

Some businesses will allow you to redeem the voucher during multiple visits, and others will not. Please check the fine print of your deal.

May I combine my voucher with other coupons or add it to another special?

Sorry, vouchers can only be used by themselves unless stated otherwise.

How much does it cost to join Localiter.com?

It doesn't cost you anything to subscribe to our website; it only costs money when you agree to purchase a voucher on a deal that has activated.  

So what about my credit card info?

Your information is secure with us. Credit card info is stored on a separate server protected by Thawte. They know what they're doing. The guy is an astronaut as a hobby for crying out loud.

What if the business closes down before I can redeem my deal?

If a tornado blows through town, flying monkeys set up shop and steal the venue, or some unforeseen event happens that causes a place to shut down before you've had a chance to use your voucher, we will 100% refund the amount you paid for your deal.

If I am a business owner and I want to promote a deal, what do I do?

If you are interested, we would love to talk. On our site, fill out your business name and contact information and we will be in touch.

Can you put more than one Localiter deal up for the day?

We could, but we want you to savor each deal. Relish them for what they are. They aren't just pieces of meat (or tofu).

I found a typo or incorrect fact on your site, who do I tell?
